Character Highlighting Sequences

The following sequences provide a way to highlight character(s) on the screen. For both start and stop operations, the highlighting starts or stops at the current cursor position. Highlighting will continue until explicitly stopped, or to the end of line. These sequences take up no room on the screen. Once a character is highlighted, the highlight moves with the character during insert, delete, or move operations from the keyboard. If a highlighted character is overwritten, the highlight remains on the new character. Clear home, Clear to end of page, and Clear to end of line, clear highlights in the applicable area.
